Brain Injury in the US

  • An average of 1.4 million people sustain a brain injury annually.
  • Of those:  50,000 people die; 235,000 are hospitalized; 1.1 million are treated and released.

The age groups at highest risk are 0-4 and 15-19 year olds.

Joshua Brantner, a brain injury survivor, and his dad, Harold Lawrence will set off on a 460 mile walk from Florida to North Carolina on February 24th. Along the way they will share with high risk groups and the media their unique brain injury awareness message of prevention and their experience of the consequences without prevention.
